Saturday October 26th 2019 Program

 

The Main Stage will have two main events:

Mayor Longwell, Lauren Salko and Bob Hamrick who will honor those who live with Diabetes at 10:30 am with opening remarks and special recognition of those who have taken insulin for more than 10 years will be recognized. If you have a Lilly Journey Award or a Joslin medal please bring it to the event with you. If have taken insulin for more than 10 years and don’t have a medal, we will provide information to receive these medals.
Vendors will be asked to take a 20 minute break during this activity.

We welcome Debbie Hinnen, APRN, BC-ADM, CDE to talk about Taking Control of Your Diabetes. Back by popular demand, Debbie is an internationally recognized diabetes care and education provider who now lives and practices in Colorado Springs. She will speak at 1 pm on the main stage.

Flu shots (If insured, insurance will be billed but limited number of free flu shots made available by Great Plains Diabetes.

Wichita State General Denistry dentists doing screenings and making Healthy Smile kits available.

Foot exams sponsored by Hagan & Associates and volunteer diabetes educators.

Emotional support and Heatlhy Coping booths available.
